ဆူးဖြူပင်သည် မြန်မာပြည်အထက်ပိုင်း အညာဒေသတွင်ပေါက်ရောက်လေ့ရှိသော အပင်လတ် အမျိုးအစားပင် ဖြစ်ပြီး အချို့နေရာတွင် အပင်ကြီးများအဖြစ်တွေ့ရလေ့ရှိသည်။[5] အင်္ဂလိပ်ဘာသာဖြင့် Vachellia nilotica ဟူ၍ ခေါ်ကြသည်။ အပင်၏ မူရင်းမှာ Acacia ဖြစ်သည်။ ထိုစကားလုံသည် ရှေးဟောင်းဂရိဘာသာစကား ἀκακία, akakía, မှ ဆင်းသက်လာပြီး ထိုအမည်ကို ရှေးဟောင်းဂရိရုက္ခဗေဒပညာရှင် ပန်ဒန်နီရပ်စ် ဒိုင်စကောရိုက်ဆိုသူက ပေးခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး ယင်း၏စာအုပ် မာတိရီယ မယ်ဒီကတွင် ဆေးဘက်ဝင်အပင်အဖြစ် ဖော်ပြထားသည်။
