NGC 4402 သည် ဗာဂိုး ကြယ်စုတန်းမှ ခရုပတ်ပုံစံ ဂလက်ဆီဖြစ်ပြီး ကမ္ဘာမြေမှ အလင်းနှစ် ၅၀ မီလီယံ ကွာဝေးသည်။ ယင်းသည် ဗာဂိုး ကြယ်စုတန်းရှိ Virgo Cluster အတွင်း၌ တည်ရှိသည်။ NGC 4402 သည် အလင်းနှစ်ထောင်ပေါင်း ၅၅ ကျယ်ဝန်းပြီး ကမ္ဘာမြေမှ တစ်စက္ကန့်လျင် ၂၃၂ ကီလိုမီတာနှုန်းဖြင့် ရွေ့လျားလျက်ရှိသည်။
