ကြောင်မျက်လုံး နက်ဗျူလာ သို့မဟုတ် NGC 6543 သည် ဒရကို ကြယ်စုတန်းမှ တောက်ပသော နက်ဗျူလာဖြစ်ပြီး ၁၇၈၆ ဖေဖော်ဝါရီ ၁၅ တွင် ဝီလီယံ ဟာရှယ်က ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။[1] ဟာဘယ် အာကာသ တယ်လီစကုပ်မှ ယင်းနက်ဗျူလာအား လေ့လာရာ ဗဟိုဝတ်ဆံ၌ ရှုပ်ထွေးသည့်ပုံရိပ်များကို တွေ့ခဲ့သည်။[3] NGC 6543 ကဲ့သို့သော နက်ဗျူလာများ၏ အကွာအဝေးမှာ သေချာမသိရပေ။[4] မကြာသေးခင် ဟာဘယ် အာကာသ တယ်လီစကုပ်၏ လေ့လာချက်များအရ နက်ဗျူလာသည် ကမ္ဘာမြေမှ 1001±269 parsec (3300 အလင်းနှစ်) ဝေးကွာသည်ဟုဆိုသည်။[5]
