NGC 83 သည် အင်ဒရိုမီဒါ ကြယ်စုတန်းမှ အလင်းနှစ် ၂၈၅ မှ ၃၃၀ မီလီယံကြား ဝေးကွာသည့် ကြယ်တစ်စင်းဖြစ်ကာ ၁၈၂၈ ခုနှစ်တွင် ဂျွန် ဟာရှယ် ဆိုသူမှ ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။[1]
