NGC 85 သည် အင်ဒရိုမီဒါ ကြယ်စုတန်းမှ အလင်းနှစ် ၂၄၅ မှ ၂၇၅ မီလီယံကြား ဝေးကွာသည့် ခရုပတ်ပုံစံ သို့မဟုတ် နှစ်ဖက်ခုံး အမျိုးအစား ဂယ်လက်ဆီဖြစ်ကာ ၁၈၇၃ ခုနှစ်တွင် Ralph Copeland ဆိုသူမှ ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။[1] The galaxy appears to be interacting with the companion spiral IC 1546.
